The Postal Store®

Planning a wedding comes with hundreds of decisions — some big, some small . . . and some stamp-size. Just as jewelry and shoes complement a wedding dress, the right stamp can pull your whole invitation suite together. Whether you’re going timeless and formal or bold and unexpected, this guide will help you find the perfect wedding stamps to match your vibe — and get your invites delivered on time and with style.

Floral Wedding Stamps

Flower stamps are a classic choice for both traditional and more whimsical celebrations any time of year. Currently available designs include:

Wedding Blooms — Soft, impressionistic florals on a two-ounce stamp — ideal for those weightier invitations. Bonus: It's made to pair with the Celebration Blooms Forever® stamp for a coordinated, thoughtful look throughout the same suite.

Celebration Blooms — A perfect companion to Wedding Blooms, or a great stand-alone option for RSVP envelopes or standard one-ounce invites. Elegant, simple, and ready for thank-you notes, too.

Dahlias — Big, bold blooms in celebratory shades of pink, red, yellow, and magenta — sure to add a summery splash and timeless touch to any envelope.

Tulip Blossoms — Rainbow tulips bring a pop of color that’s great for spring or summer weddings. They feel fresh, cheerful, and a little playful.

Garden Delights — Celebrating the flora and fauna of America's colorful gardens, these stamps make a fitting selection for outdoor weddings or nature-loving couples.

Modern Wedding Stamps

If your vibe is more contemporary, urban, or industrial, these stamps might be more your match:

Love (2024) — Minimalist but still romantic, this stylized bird with an envelope brings just enough charm without being fussy.

Roy Lichtenstein — These stamps boast a pop art flair with high-impact color. A great choice for bold, nontraditional stationery or modern weddings that want a little edge.

Niche Wedding Stamps

Want stamps that say a little more about you? Here are a few options that might connect with your interests or aesthetic, and reveal a little piece of your story before guests even open the envelope:

Bluegrass — Hiring a bluegrass band for your backyard ceremony or just wanting to share your love for that "high lonesome sound"? Inspired by vintage bluegrass concert posters, these stamps make a harmonious choice for rustic and outdoor weddings with a folksy vibe.

Save Manatees — Using the Save Manatees stamps is a sweet way to make your wedding mail both personal and purposeful, as these stamps raise awareness about the threats posed to this beloved marine mammal. Cute stamps that will pair swimmingly with invitations for a beach wedding.

Horses — A warm, earthy option with timeless equestrian vibes. You can also mix Horses stamps with vintage or thematic stamps (like flowers, barns, or American landscapes) for a layered postage look that's both coordinated and creative.

Fall or Winter Wedding Stamps

Looking for a stamp that more clearly communicates the seasonality of your celebration?

Vibrant Leaves — These stamps set a cozy tone for an autumnal celebration. Whether your wedding is rustic, elegant, or somewhere in between, these stamps will bring warmth and charm to your stationery suite. (Note: Because these stamps are at the postcard rate, you'll most likely need to use more than one — pair a couple or few together for a fun and layered look!)

Winter Whimsy — These simple yet bold stamps evoking winter flurries will add a crisp, seasonal sparkle to your invites. Think weddings at rustic or mountain-town venues, with evergreen florals and stole-clad guests.

Winter Woodland Animals — These fanciful stamps featuring woodland animals will bring a bit of the forest's magic to your envelopes. Slightly storybook, slightly modern, totally charming.

Spontaneous Wedding Stamps

Spiral Galaxy Priority Mail® — If time is of the essence, the Spiral Galaxy Priority Mail® stamp is your fast-track to getting those invites where they need to go within days — and it will look cosmic doing it.

How to Select the Right Wedding Postage

Finding the perfect wedding postage isn't only about style; it's also about size and shape. While most standard invitations warrant only a single Forever stamp, heavier, decorative, or irregularly sized suites may need more.

The surest way to make sure you have the right postage is to take a fully assembled invitation suite — including your invitation, the RSVP card, any enclosures (such as a "details" card or the like), and the envelope itself — to your nearest Post Office to have it assessed, free of charge. They’ll let you know what you need — no guesswork required.

For example, a non-machineable surcharge stamp might be recommended for your invitation due to its shape (such as a square) or certain embellishments like a wax seal or ribbon. The two design options currently available for non-machineable stamps are:

  • Luna Moth — A showstopper for envelopes that need the extra postage. (First Day of Issue Date is TBD.)
  • Colorado Hairstreak — Another stamp choice for a nature lover, in beautiful, shimmering purple.

And if you're including an RSVP card, make sure you affix a standard Forever stamp to those envelopes, too. Your guests will thank you!

The Finishing Touch

Stamps might be small, but they say a lot. They’re your first impression, your personal touch, and your practical step all rolled into one. Whether you're going floral, modern, niche, or seasonal, there’s a stamp — or combo — that fits your wedding perfectly.
