Pane of 20

$15.60

Honor the 39th President of the United States with the Jimmy Carter stamp from the U.S. Postal Service. Jimmy Carter (1924–2024) represented a new generation of progressive Southern politicians, serving as president from 1977 to 1981. He received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002 for his later humanitarian work.

Issued in a pane of 20, the stamp features a 1982 oil-on-linen work created as a life study by artist Herbert E. Abrams in preparation for painting his official White House portrait of Carter. Art director Ethel Kessler designed the stamp.
