First Day of Issue Ceremony: Powwows: Celebrating Native American Culture

This stamp dedication ceremony is an outdoor event, open to the public, and will take place in the Gathering of Nations Powwow area. This annual gathering held in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is a celebration of Native American culture for more than 100,000 attendees where Indigenous people come to celebrate their identities through dance, prayer, music and art. Steve Monteith, the Postal Service’s chief customer and marketing officer and executive vice president, will serve as the dedicating official.

The ceremony contingency plan for a weather-related event will be in the Hispanic Arts building.
