About This Stamp

The 15-cent Veterans Administration commemorative stamp was first placed on sale at Washington, D.C., on July 21, 1980. The design commemorated the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Veterans Administration. This was the third stamp printed privately under the terms of a contract awarded by the Postal Service in 1978.

The stamp was designed by Malcolm Grear and issued in sheets of 50. American Bank Note Company and J.W. Fergusson and Sons printed it.
