About This Stamp

This stamp commemorates the 25th anniversary of the modern U.S. Savings Bond program and honors American servicemen. In 1941, the Series E Bond was introduced by the United States Treasury Department. They were used as defense, or war, bonds to help finance the Second World War, but also served as a safe investment for the American people. The stamp features an image of the State of Liberty and the flag of the United States.
