About This Stamp
Issued to commemorate the upcoming Bicentennial celebration, a set of four stamps chronicled the many ways patriots communicated the spirit of independence during the American Revolution. Postrider (U.S. #1478) was issued on June 22, 1973, in Rochester, New York, in honor of the postrider who carried mail on horseback.
