NATO

The NATO stamp commemorates the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, an intergovernmental military force. The organization is based on a system of collective defense, created in the wake of the Cold War, and its headquarters are located in Brussels, Belgium. The stamp features a compass rose emblem, based on the organization’s flag, as well as its motto “United for Freedom.”
