About This Stamp

This stamp commemorates the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the National Park Service, an agency of the United States federal government under the Department of the Interior. It was created by Congress through the National Park Service Organic Act. The agency manages and protects properties such as national parks, battlefields, and memorials. The stamp features an image of the Parkscape USA emblem; its interconnecting triangles and three dots symbolize preservation and the outdoors.
