About This Stamp
This Gunston Hall stamp commemorates the bicentennial of Gunston Hall, located near the Potomac River in Mason Neck, Virginia. Gunston Hall was the home of George Mason, one of the Founding Fathers of the United States and author of the Constitution of Virginia and the Virginia Bill of Rights. The stamp features an image of the front facade of the house, designed in the Georgian style. The property is now a National Historic Site and museum.
