About This Stamp
The Eagle and Shield self-adhesive stamp was issued for bulk mailers to use instead of a stamped envelope. The design for this stamp was first used in 1991. This stamp represents the fourth time the same design was used but the first time it was issued as self-adhesive. It features the artwork of Christopher Calle, the artist behind some of America’s space stamps.
