The Dean Acheson stamp, commemorating former U.S. Secretary of State Acheson (1893–1971), went on sale April 21, 1993, in Washington, D.C.

The stamp design was by Christopher Calle. Stamp Venturers, Inc., engraved this stamp through the intaglio process with panes of 50 stamps.
