About This Stamp
This Liberty issue stamp depicts Benjamin Harrison, the 23rd President of the United States. He was born in North Bend, Ohio, and was the grandson of William Henry Harrison, the ninth President of the United States. He served in the Union Army during the Civil War and was later elected to the U.S. Senate to represent the state of Indiana. He won the election of 1888 against incumbent Grover Cleveland to become President of the United States, only to lose to him during the election of 1892.
