The Postal Store®

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) affects tens of millions of Americans, and in 2019, the U.S. Postal Service joined the nation in aiding in the compassionate treatment of PTSD by releasing the semipostal Healing PTSD stamp.

Since its issuance, 18.9 million stamps have been sold, raising more than $2.2 million dollars. Net proceeds from sales of this semipostal stamp are distributed to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, which oversees the National Center for PTSD, to support those suffering from the disorder.

Issued on December 2, 2019, in Charlotte, NC, the stamp features Mark Laita’s photo illustration of a sprouting plant, surrounded by falling leaves. The image is meant to represent the healing process, growth, and hope in PTSD recovery.
